James Andrew Moon,40,of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

James is survived by his loving wife, Michele Moon, his son, Caleb Moon, his daughter Reagan Moon, his Mother Carol Salazar, his Step-Father, Joe Salazar, as well as his older brother Jeffrey Moon. James was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Frederick Moon.

James was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. James loved the ocean, going on trips,The Michigan Wolverines, The Duke Blue Devil’s, and spending time cooking for his family.

James especially loved his many co-workers at New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he worked as a Clinical Coordinator Registered Nurse. He will be sorely missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 3-5pm Tuesday, March 24,2020 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Memorial service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, March 25,2020 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

    James has been a part of my family ever since he and my cousin Michele began dating. I was so happy to be able to celebrate their marriage at their wedding last September. James was fun-loving, kind, a terrific father, an incredible nurse, and an amazing partner and husband to my beautiful cousin. I will always remember swapping nursing stories, karaoke nights, going to downtown Wilmington and the Fat Pelican, and the fun times we had at the beach house. I will also always remember how he wanted our whole family to be a part of his proposal to Michele at the river walk; he was so nervous before and completely elated after she said yes. James will be greatly missed, and whenever I hear Linkin Park I will always smile and remember how he would sing his heart out at karaoke <3. Rest In Peace, friend.

    James was such a fun & loving addition to our family. One night when my mom, sister and I were visiting, we went to a karaoke night at The Reel Cafe in North Carolina. James was so brave in front of our family when he performed "In the End" by Linkin Park. That was when I knew he was an extraordinary person. He really set the tone for the rest of the night. It became a tradition whenever we came down to visit. Aunt Denise and Uncle Ricky even bought a karaoke set-up for their living room so we could perform with top notch equipment. We stayed up all night singing and rapping. James performed his favorite Eminem songs with the most heart and zero shame! Michele and James did many duets including "Steal my Sunshine" by Len and "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath. Whenever I think of James I think of summertime, the beach, and throwback 90's jams. He was a phenomenal dancer, and chef. James made everyone around him feel comfortable to be themselves. We had many nights that were centered around loud music, screaming at the top of our lungs, dancing and moshing in Michele's kitchen. He was a dedicated nurse, father, and friend to all. I will miss him dearly. I am sending all my love to my beautiful cousin Michele, Aunt Denise, Uncle Ricky, Grandma, Grandpa, James' beautiful children and family. Rest In Peace James, we love you very much.
