James Elbert Deans

Memorial Gifts & Donations

It is with profound sadness that the family of James Elbert Deans announce his peaceful passing, in his home on March 26th, 2021 at the age of 72.

James was born on November 2nd, 1948, in Smithfield N.C. to the late Millard Deans and Christine Ellis Deans. He was the 2nd born of 7 children. James moved to Leland N.C. in the ’80s to pursue his dream job; he became one of the best wallpaper hangers around.

James was many things to many people; a loving husband, a giving father and grandfather, an awesome brother, and always a helping hand to many people. James loved the Lord. His kind honest heart, his love for the ministry of music through song and his God-gifted talent to hang wallpaper are just a few extraordinary things that carried him through life’s journey.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kimberly Deans; his children Tammy Greeson, Angela Glover and husband Sam, Jamie Deans, Wesley Emmons and wife Oubon, Charles Deans and wife Amanda, Trisha Terry and husband Jeremy, Brandi Johnson and Timothy Johnson; his siblings, Jane Adams and husband Ronald, Sandra Fitzgerald, Ann Bingham and husband Will, Debra Chandler and husband Howard, Angel Rose Gonzalez, William Glenn Deans and Wife Rhonda; along with all his many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of the many souls he adopted to the Father in his sweet life.

Together with his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Alica Deans and son Tracy Deans.

James lived his life for the Lord, he has now traded his earthly home for a brighter one, he has finally received his reward. Losing such a great man here on earth is hard, but we are all grateful that we will all reunite again in heaven one day. His family is comforted in knowing that this journey was all a part of “The Master’s Plan”!

The family would like to thank everyone for checking on James and us throughout his journey, and thank the wonderful nurses from Hospice care; Jessica, Rochelle, and Janet.

A fundraiser has been set up to assist James’s family through this difficult time. Although we cannot take away the pain of their loss, we can help ease the unexpected financial challenges. Donations may be made at www.tmcfunding.com.

Celebration of the life of James Deans will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 1:00 at Solid Rock Pentecostal Church, 118 Rockledge Road, Wilmington, NC 28412.

What a great man of God that will be dearly missed by all that ever met him. His love of singing and playing unto the Lord was the greatest we've ever seen. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone he met. Definitely know where he is resting at today, with our Lord & Savior on those streets of gold. God Bless all of Deans family and comfort them in the days ahead. Rest in peace Brother James.
