Garland was born in Wayne County on April 22, 1947 to the late Floyd Garland Wells and Etta Marie Turnage Wells of Goldsboro.
Garland was a retired veteran. He was a true “entrepreneur”, had a special personality that will always be remembered and a multitude of talents that included being a master storyteller and a fantastic cook.
