James Patrick Stenson, age 80 of Wilmington passed away Sunday June 18, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Boston, MA on June 5, 1937 to the late John J. Stenson and Beatrice Keeney Stenson; also remembered is his first wife, Ann Marie Mazzola Stenson, and a son, James Michael Stenson who preceded him in death.
James was a proud veteran of the US Navy and was stationed aboard a Naval Mine Sweeper. He was a talented woodworker and cabinet maker and was well known for his professional work in MA, FL, and NC. He was a member of Basilica Shrine of St. Mary.
He is survived by his wife, Theodora “Teddi” Amidon Stenson; three children, Kathleen Stenson, Eric Stenson, and Annette Stenson (Rob Kuhn); grandchildren, Kire Stenson, Hana Stenson, Cali Stenson, James Stenson, Gregory Ellis, and Olivia Kuhn.
The family will see friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Thursday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9 am Friday, June 23, 2017 at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary, 412 Ann St., Wilmington.
