James Paul McSwain, age 86, of Wilmington passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.
He was born October 20, 1928 in Hamlet, North Carolina the son of the late James Paul Web and Mary Carolyn McSwain.
James proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was a chemical engineer for AT&T and received his Master’s Degree from Princeton University. James enjoyed spending his time at the beach and with his friends for breakfast at the McDonalds in Carolina Beach, whom were lovingly referred to as the “McMafia.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Debbie J. McSwain; four children, two step children, one grandchild; five step grandchildren; a feline companion, Chloe and canine companion, Lucy; along with numerous other loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held at the home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, May 30, 2014.
