I am shocked and saddened by this news. Janet and I were at NHHS together. She was a comfort to my husband when, at 19, he took off on his first flight and to a far-away place for basic camp in the National Guard. Carol and all of you, I am so sorry for your loss.

    Wayne and Becky Varner says:
Tommy, Becky and I are so sorry for the loss of Janet. I had the pleasure of working with Jan at Cape Fear Hospital during its golden years. She did a marvelous job of managing the Medical Staff Affairs office: I.e.herding cats. She was tireless and much loved by “her” medical staff as a treasured colleague. After Cape Fear’s transition, she remained a true friend, never missed a birthday card, and always shared a warm hug with her contagious smile. We will miss her.
