Jason Christopher Tutchton, age 29, suddenly passed away on December 25, 2023 at 6:30 pm in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born in Boca Raton, Florida, Jason grew up in Marietta, Georgia with his family where he enjoyed playing sports, video games, hanging with his friends, working on his Jeep and playing with his dog.

Jason Tutchton is a graduate Lassiter High Schools and a passionate member of the lacrosse community in Marietta, GA. and went on to attend and play Division 3 lacrosse at Virginia Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach,Virginia before leaving school to join the United States Marine Corp. where he held the MOS 6113 Helicopter Mechanic CH53. Due to his commitment, leadership and success in this field, Jason was promoted to Plane Captain, Collateral Duty Inspector and Desk Sergeant. He achieved the secondary MOS, 0931 as a Combat Marksmanship Instructor and MOS 0933, Marksmanship Coach. He obtained a green belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, and led his squadron’s Body Composition Program and Recovery Condition Program. While serving his country, Jason Tutchton received the meritorious rank of Corporal, earned the title of Honor Graduate at Corporals course, obtained three certificates of appreciation, a Meritorious Mast, Marine of the quarter recognition, and a certificate of commendation.

After his time in the service, Jason held positions as a Marine Technician at BellHart Marine Services, an Aircraft Technician at Gulfstream Aerospace and most recently as an Aircraft Technician for Apollo MedFlight. While working, Jason Tutchton became a Certified Emergency Medical Technician for the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management through Coastal Carolina Community College.

Jason Tutchton enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycling, fitness, attending concerts and supporting his sister’s career and passion in animal welfare. He traveled across the United States and ventured across the sea to Europe. He had aspirations of continuing these travels and found new interests in skydiving, and bike racing.

Jason Christopher Tutchton was, and is, an integral part of this world and the role he held will never be filled. He put forth all his effort into every task and was constantly working to better himself and those around him. Jason is now doing what he has always done best, protecting those he loves.

He is survived by his Father, Steven Tutchton, Mother, Lee Ann Tutchton, Sister, Dr. Cydney Tutchton, grandmothers, Diane Bieberbach and Betty  Jo Tutchton along with extended family members.
