My prayers and hope for the comfort of God go with Jay's family. My childhood best friend is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. My first sad day as a young child was when my "brother" moved from Lake Village to Sunset Park. Before that, we were inseparable. You saw one...you saw both of us. Mr. J. B. was my Sunday School and BTU teacher at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Jay was blessed with two great Godly parents. Perhaps I ramble but times like this cause our minds to rehearse great memories of our awesome friends. RIP my brother. Through our Saviour Jesus Christ, we shall be united where pain and suffering will be no more. Thank you for being my friend.

My condolences to Jay's wife & family on his passing. I have known Jay for over 70 years dating back to when we went to Sunset Park Elementary School & Sunset Park Baptist Church. We were in many classes at school & participated in many church activities. We both played football at Sunset Park Junior High & graduated from New Hanover High School in 1963. I always knew Jay as a fine Christian person who was friendly, kind, smart, athletic and a true friend. After graduating from high school, our lives & careers took us in different places so we lost touch until we became Facebook friends & Jay came back for a NHHS-CLASS Reunion. I know that he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. RIP Jay.🙏☝️🙏 Carl Miller
