Gladys Jean Cliff, 63 of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018.

Born June 10, 1955 in Barre, Vermont and was the daughter of the late Grover and Pearl Chase.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, James Cliff; Four daughters, Melissa Ridgeway, Carrie Cliff, Myra Cliff, Leslie Winner and son Ryan Cliff and 10 grandchildren. Her brother Jim Chase and sisters Julie Chase and was preceded in death by Susan Larkin.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, making jewelry spending time with her husband and grandchildren. She was compassionate, kind, beautiful and always with a smile on her face and would frequently say how proud she was of her family. She was selfless and fearless, devoting 15 years of her life to advocate, and care for her grandson with whom has Cerebral Palsy. A role she took on with such determination, persistence and dedication.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2018 with Rev. Albert Cliff officiating at The Church of God, 246 Middle Sound Loop Road, Wilmington, NC.

    What a beautiful write up about Jean....how true it reflects her soul....as soon as i saw her name i knew exactly who it was...as i had the pleasure of assisting her for several years regarding the care/ equipment for her grandson...we are all blessed to have known her..and she will be remembered for the love of her family!
