Memorial Gifts & Donations

On February 12, 1970 in Neubruecke, Germany, an exceptional being came into this world named Jeff
Kaufmann.

Jeff lived life as a free spirit in every way, bringing anyone he encountered along for the ride.
His loving nature, laughter, humor and kind heart will be remembered by all. Whether you were family or
friend you could always count on Jeff. He was an old soul who made this world a better place. Working
with Alzheimer’s residents was by far his greatest joy. Jeff left us unexpectedly, but we feel so privileged
to have known him. We will be together again our sweet son.

Jeff is survived by his mother Marion Hunter, father Alan Hunter, brother Robert Kaufmann, wife
Charlene and nephew Logan. Sister Migda Hunter, brother Joshua Hunter (wife Adrie). Paternal father
Gregory Kaufmann (wife Gail), daughters Heather and Morgan. Aunt and uncle Pam and Harry
Concepcion, along with first cousins Nadia (husband Junior) and Octavious.

The following messages are written in memory of Jeff.

Marion Hunter, Jeff’s Mom; On February 12, 1970 I was the vehicle by which an exceptional spirit
came into this world, we named him Jeff. Due to how he came into this world I referred to him as my
miracle child. My son lived life as a free spirit in every way, bringing anyone he encountered along for
the ride. His laughter, humor and kind heart will be remembered by all. I feel blessed to have been his
mom for 50 years. I will see you again my sweet son.

Alan Hunter, Jeff’s Father; During this very difficult time I have special memories of Jeff; rafting down
the Salt River in Arizona, bringing the boat from Baltimore to Wilmington, spending the day on the water
fishing, smoking a brisket in the backyard, playing games his mom wanted to play or watching football.
Jeff seemed to make the day brighter and better. In many ways our family was the happiest when Jeff was
around. Whether you were a family member, or a stranger Jeff treated everyone the same. He was my son,
yet an old soul who made this world a better place during his time in it.

Robert Kaufmann, Jeff’s Brother; We just lost a great guy, my brother Jeff Kaufmann. He was not just
my brother he was my best friend, the best man at my wedding and always there for me! Jeff helped my
mom raise me when she had to work multiple jobs, he made sure my needs were met. He always had my
back no matter what he might have been going through. He sure knew how to make people laugh and
have a good time. My brother was one of the most helpful, loving persons I ever met. He was loved by
all. I will always love and miss you Jeff and miss watching football and NASCAR racing with you. I am
sorry you never got to meet your new nephew, but I will assure Logan will know all about how special his
Uncle Buck was. I know you will be looking down on him and supporting him like you supported me.

David Poloway, Jeff’s Best Friend; When I think of my deceased friend Jeff the words that come to
mind are; Kind, caring, authentic, easy going, funny, smart, passionate. He was all these things and
more. You could share anything with Jeff, he was never ever judgmental. There was something
indescribable about his presence. He was not only my friend, he was my counselor, my advocate, my
bodyguard, my mentor, and so much more. The world is a better place because Jeff Kaufmann was in it.
I am honored and blessed to have been his friend. I will never forget him.

There will be several celebrations of his life at a later date.
