Jeffery “Todd” Eason, 44, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on
Saturday, August 8, 2020.
Todd was born to mother, Sandra Reeves, and father, Norwood Eason, on May 7, 1976 in
Goldsboro, North Carolina. Todd was preceded in death by his father.
Todd graduated from Goldsboro High School and attended Fayetteville State University as a placekicker for the Broncos. Todd received his Bachelors of Science in Business Management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Todd is survived by his wife and two children. Todd married Beth Steelman, the love of his life
in 2005 and the couple uniquely celebrated their hometowns with a menu of Wilbers BBQ and
Krispy Kreme doughnuts at their wedding. In their 14 year marriage, the couple had two
amazing children. Todd would say his daughter Kate, 13, was “his everything,” and his son
Parker, 6, was his best buddy– his “buddy-rooski.” In addition to his wife and children, Todd is also survived by his mother Sandra Reeves and Joe Surratt of Goldsboro, NC, his sister Amanda and brother-in-law Chris Cwiakala, and his nieces Ivey and Jayde of Goldsboro, NC, brothers Jay Eason and Scott Eason of Charlotte, NC and several aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him dearly.
The things most important to Todd, were his family and his friends. His friendships were
long-lived and deeply rooted. His infectious smile and dimples would brighten your day, and his
even-keel demeanor and easy going nature made him welcomed by all.
He was an avid fisherman and loved the fishing tournaments for Fisherman’s Post and
Got-Em-On with his fishing partner, cousin, and best friend, Matt Davis.
Todd loved music and enjoyed the annual tradition of attending Merle Fest with a group of his
closest friends including best friend and college roommate, Bryan Youngs.
Our hearts are heavy with the loss of a husband, son, father, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend.
Todd will be missed by so many, but he will never be forgotten.
The family will be holding a private memorial to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a college fund being established for his two children through www.tmcfunding.com.
