Jerry D. Coleman, 69 of Wilmington passed away on Thursday July 22, 2010 at home with his family by his side.

He was born November 14, 1940 in Columbus County to the late Walter and Cora Belle Coleman.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, his daughters Lynn Vann, Danna (Ivan) Batts, Sharon (Tracy) Parker, Six grandchildren, Savannah Furr, Derrick Vann, Brittany Batts, Travis Batts, Ashley (Daniel) Sarvis, Stephen (Brooke) Batts. Three great- grandchildren, Lainey Grace Vann, Jameson Sarvis, and Griffin McGuire. One brother, Dallas (Alva) Coleman, And his faithful canine companions, Gracie and Hobo that were always by his side.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC 28401, or the American Cancer Society.

    Before I me Danny all I knew was "Everyone loves my Danny"(Savannah), and I soon realized why. Danny is a great man, and I feel privilaged to have gotten to know him. I will never for get the light hearted conversations we had, and what I learned from him. I am sorry for your loss, and wish I could be there for all of you to help through out this time.
