Jerry Ray Blanton, 71 of Winnabow and formerly of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
He was born February 4, 1940 in Wilmington, NC. His parents were the late Jack Blanton and Pearl Herring Blanton.

Jerry was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Bolivia. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was retired from Machine and Welding Supply Co.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia “Ann” Blanton; three children, David Blanton, Becky Truehart and husband Steve, Dennis “Dino” Blanton and wife Wendy; three grandchildren, Brandon and Shawn Truehart, and Kodi Blanton; and one sister, Bernice Lucas.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, December 23, 2011 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1460 Old Ocean Highway, Bolivia. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington.
