    Book club buddy for over 30 years! We often liked the same books, pottery and clams in butter sauce. Conservations with her were always stimulating as she was one of the smartest women I know, well traveled, and community minded. She is missed!

    Truly a sad loss for Wilmington and the Carl family . Joanne had a spark for life , learning, & educating, I share warm memories of her as a kind caring and nurturing spirt . As I write this I am forever reminded of her as I gaze at the beautiful ceramic pottery vase next to my fireplace she gave me when I got married. Lost touch with her over the years but she always hold a special place in my heart .
