Joe Charles Bethea, age 80 of the Wrightsboro Community passed away Friday, November 25, 2016.

Joe was born on November 29, 1935 in Dillon, SC to Charles Bethea and Rachel Lane Bethea.

Joe was a proud veteran of the US Navy and was retired as the Terminal Superintendent from the AMACO Oil Terminal in Wilmington. He was a longtime faithful member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Joe was proud of earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Joe is survived by his wife Jean Pressley Bethea; daughter and son in-law Andrea and Donnie Gore; sister and brother in-law Mary Ann and Howard Peters; one grandson, Dillon Gore; and three nephews, Scott, Todd and Chuck Kirkland.

A Celebration of Life memorial ceremony will be held 2 pm Wednesdsay, November 30, 2016 at Wrightsboro Baptist Church. The family will see friends an hour prior to service.
