John Alan Whitt, MD age 58 of Wilmington passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017.
He was born in Chicago, IL on October 21, 1958 to Jack Whitt and Isabel Scattergood Whitt.
John was a graduate of East Carolina School of Medicine. He practiced as a Pysciatrist in Silva, NC and the western part of NC. He loved nature and all animals. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his leisure time. John was a human encyclopedia and had a dry sense of humor and shared it with everyone.
John is survived by one son, Patrick Alan Whitt; one daughter, Maggie Whitt Mazurek; grandson, Liam Mazurek; His Love and best friend, Helen Coleman; brothers, Jack, Jim, and Mike; and sisters, Kathy, Roxie,and Jenny; and his dog, “Roscoe”.
John and Helen were only together for a short time, but had a relationship that others dream about. They had a wonderful, deep and beautiful relationship.
A special family gathering to remember John will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 2-4 pm at John and Helen’s home, 216 N. 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403. All friends are invited to come and remember John.
