Eddie and family, Just wanted to say how sorry we are to hear of John's passing. He was a sweet man who had the kindest smile. And Eddie, we are so happy that he is a child of God. How comforting to know that he is with Him now. I'm so glad I got to speak with you both for a few minutes at Sam's recently. If we can do anything for you, please let us know.

    Rick Orli says:
Johnny, as I knew him, was my best friend around the ages of 9-11 in Wilmington and at Chestnut st elementary, and I kept in touch with him for several years though he moved to the house on the water, and soon I moved out of the area. Sometimes, we played chess over the phone. Last time we spent some real time together - we were in our 20s then - he treated me to a night out shrimping on a small boat, just us and the 'skeeters. He was a great guy! I also have great memories about his parents and how sweet and generous his mom was to me. And his dog - I'm blanking on the name after 50 years (name will probably come to me tonight) but that was a very special dog who was always with us…. so typical of John’s character that he inspired such an exceptional relationship. Sorry I missed word of John's passing until now - my very best wishes to his family.
