John Joseph Rogalny

June 6, 1918 - June 14, 2010
John Joseph Rogalny

John J. Rogalny, 92 of Wilmington was taken by God’s hands on June 14, 2010.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Florence Barkasy.

John leaves behind a loving family of a wife of 63 years Stella Kmiec Rogalny, a daughter Lori George and husband Casey, three grandchildren Casey George, II and wife Amanda, Justin George and Christopher George, two great grandchildren Tyson Elliott George and Carter John George, and a sister Harriette Luegge.

John served his country in the US Army in WWII. He retired after 28 years as a Firefighter with Engine 5 in Trenton, NJ. He leaves only memories of the man whose selflessness was unequaled. His generosity towards family and friends alike was a small part of his love for others. Accepting no “thank you” for his kindness, his response for all who thanked him was always “Don’t thank me, thank the Lord”

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road. Inurnment will be in Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

    Pat Polomik says:
I would like to offer my condolences to Stella and her family. I can remember when our kids played soccer with his grandchildren, growing up, and that's where I met John, on the soccer field. He will be missed also when I walk by his house almost everyday for my exercise walk, and use to wave to him. You had a wonderful life, and I will see you again. May you rest in peace. Rich, Pat Michael, and Susan Polomik
