John Lester Powell

John Lester Powell of Leland, NC, died Monday, August 16, 2010, at his residence.

He was born in Whiteville, NC, on April 18, 1949, the son of the late John and Essie (Nobles) Powell and was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Powell.

Surviving besides his wife, Lillian Powell, are a son, Robert A. Powell and wife Bonnie of Leland, NC, two brothers, Robert H. Powell and wife Barbara of Rocky Point, NC, and Bill Powell and wife Janice of Wilmington, NC, two sisters, Clara F. Worrell and husband Jerry of Whiteville, NC, and Eula Mae Pierce of Lexington, SC.

Memorial services will be held starting at 6 PM Saturday, August, 21, 2010, at Village Road Memorial Chapel, Leland, NC with the Rev. Randy Gainey.
