John Lindsey Henning, III., 72, of Wilmington, NC passed away on March 22, 2023.
John was born on March 1, 1951 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late John Lindsey Henning, II and Mary Rowene (Helm) Henning.
John was a historian buff and was always reading, especially the National Geographic. He had a wealth of knowledge and would make sure you knew the facts if you were wrong. He had a contagious laugh and sense of humor. He enjoyed story telling with his family, especially about his ancestors from Ireland. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. Henning is survived by his wife, Denise Smith Henning of 32 years; son, John Matthew Henning (Anna); daughters, Rachel Kaye Henning, Ann Michelle Looker (Joe), Harmony Breeze McDaniel (Jamie McCarthy), Melodie Star Hamilton (Mike), and Symphony Dawn Oxendine (Derek); sister, Mary Elizabeth Henning; 14 grandchildren, Kortney Headrick, Austin Rodgers, Aislin Henning, Toby Shackelford, Alexis Miller, Asher Henning, Kolie Miller, Tyler Hamilton, Maya Henning, Sonata Oxendine, Aria Oxendine, Torrie Hamilton, Haileybelle McCarthy-McDaniel, and Mattox Henning; 5 great grandchildren, Ryker Rodgers, Millie Headrick, Elsie Rodgers, Anyx Headrick, and Slater Headrick.
There will be no funeral services at this time.
