John Michael Alercia, age 65 of Belville,passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his home.

John was born in Wilmington, NC on December 17, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents Placido Alercia, Betty Shepherd and Earl Shepherd.

John was retired from the Leland DuPont plant.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Firozi Alercia; his son, Brian Alercia (Miranda) and his daughter, Leane Alercia; brothers, A.J. Parlatore, Raymond Alercia(Pam), and Don Alercia (Kathy); grandchildren, Darien Michael Alercia, Annabelle Delilah Alercia, and Brady Cole Paluck; and his extended family in India, Singapore, and Portugal. He also leaves behind his 4 legged companions, especially “India”

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel by Certified Life Celebrant Colleen Heck. The family will see friends an hour before the services. To honor John, please dress in casual clothes.

In lieu of flowers you may make a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.

His family wishes to thank Dr. J. Hines and his nurse Jean Ward for their kindness, care, and compassion to John and his family.
