John Michael King

John Michael King, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2023, in his hometown of Wilmington, NC. Born on March 13, 1964, John lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories for all those fortunate enough to have known him.

John’s journey was one filled with adventure and laughter. As a skilled industrial electrician in the IBEW union, he embarked on countless travels across the country, relishing in the excitement that each new destination brought. He had a zest for life, appreciating both the big thrills and the simple joys it had to offer. Nature held a special place in his heart, and John found solace and peace in the outdoors. Time spent with his beloved dogs, family, and friends brought him immense happiness.

But it was John’s generous spirit that endeared him to so many. He possessed a rare selflessness, always willing to give more than he had to both friends and strangers. His kindness knew no bounds, and his acts of compassion touched the lives of many. John showed us the true meaning of love and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts he encountered.

John’s unwavering faith guided him throughout his life’s journey. He was a lifelong Christian, finding strength and solace in his beliefs during both the triumphant moments and the challenging times. His faith was a beacon of light, illuminating his path and providing comfort even in the darkest of days.

John is preceded in death by his loving parents, Albert Ray King Jr. and Deloris Parsons King. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to be treasured by his son, John Michael King Jr., his siblings Albert Ray “Buddy” King III and Gina King Graham, as well as his nephews, niece, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between the hours of 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. It is a time for us all to come together, to share stories, and to honor the incredible impact that John had on our lives.

John Michael King will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit, his laughter, and his unwavering kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all to live life with the same zest, generosity, and faith that he exemplified.
