John Paul Majkowski of Wilmington, NC left this earth for his heavenly home on July 9, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

John was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York on February 25, 1943, to Henry Majkowski and Sophie Weczkeewicz Majkowski.

John is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Rosalie Santoro Majkowski; his sons Robert Henry Majkowski of Wilmington, NC and Thomas Vincent Majkowski and daughter in-law Frances E Majkowski of Cary, NC; as well as two grandchildren Amanda Rose Majkowski and Thomas Vincent Majkowski, Jr. John is also survived by two sisters, Eleanor Poster and Mary Ann Bomengo; and sister in-law Josephine, wife of his late brother Henry as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his son Roger William Majkowski and his sister Florence (Flossie).

John attended grade school at St. Stan’s Elementary and St. John’s Preparatory School. He graduated from St. John’s College with a Bachelor of Science. John retired from the banking industry after 35 years as an Auditor.

John was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a great dancer and loved the music of his era, especially Doo Wop. He loved family pets and made sure they had lots of love and plenty of treats. He had a kind soul and genuine spirit. He enjoyed making his family and friends happy and was generous and patient. He is dearly loved and will forever be missed.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm.
