Services will be held in Pittsburgh, PA under the direction of John A. Freyvogel Sons Funeral Home, 4900 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, 412.621.1665.

    We are so devastated by the loss of John. While we only new him for a short time he was a breathe of fresh air and put a smile on your face every time we saw him. He told us lots of stories about his family, time in the restaurant business, and about some of the Greek heritage. We loved to sit and have a chat with him, bring him puzzles, newspapers, and things to make his days better. He made my mom (Judy) so happy and helped her to adjust and made her days much happier living in a place that is difficult at best to be in (New Hanover House). They kept each other company, enjoyed their meals together, and made the best of their days. It turned into the best of friendship. I wish that we had gotten a chance to meet more of his family during his time at New Hanover House but our time was unfortunately cut short. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We came to love him like our own family and will miss him so much.
