Just found out about John’s passing this morning through a friend who live in Wilmington who saw a post about it on Facebook John and I go way back. Met him at West Stanley. Went through CPCC together, joined the Navy together along with Frank Klutz, and went to UNCC together after getting out of the Navy. Went to visit Jonn in Wilmington many times through the years and got the pleasure of hanging out with him some after I retired and moved to the Wilmington area. Unfortunately lost contact with him after moving from that area and relocating back to the Albemarle area. Have always been close friends and considered John to be a brother. John was one of the greatest people I will ever known. Always happy and fun loving and welcomed you with open arms. We had many wonderful times together over the years and held a special place in my heart He will be greatly missed!
