John Ziemba

John Ziemba of Leland passed away peacefully
at home surrounded by family on March 10, 2013.

John was born on May 15, 1919 in Yonkers NY, the
son of Antoniana and Karol Ziemba. In addition to his
parents, John is preceded in death by his sisters Julia
and Mary, brother Alexander, daughters Carol and Jeanette,
and his wife Anne who was the love of his life.

He is survived by his son Paul and his wife Barbara, nieces
Elaine and Valerie and husband Paul. Grandchildren Paul Jr.,
Kristi, John, Stacy, Jennifer, Rory, Sean, Christopher and
7 great grandchildren.

John served his country honorably in the US Army during
WWII. He was a retired heavy construction truck driver and
union member of the Teamsters Local 456. He was a devoted
husband and loving father who cared for all around him.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the Azalea Health
and Rehabilitation Center and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice
and Life Center for all their excellent care, concern and
compassion during John’s illness.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice
Foundation at 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington NC 28401.

Following the wishes of John, there will be no services.
