Jonathan Dale Howren, 34, died April 10, 2024, following a prolonged illness.

He is survived by his mother Candice Huygens Howren; his brothers Eric Skyler Howren and Richard Wes Howren; Step-Grandmother Kathy Shipley Huygens; Stepmother Rai Beth Howren; Cousins Ursula Schascle Huygens, Tyler Asbury Huygens, and Vanessa Howren Reid; Uncles John C. Howren, Brian Huygens, and Bobby Finch, as well as other family and friends who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond Scott Howren; Grandparents Eleanor H. Finch, Baxter Herman Finch, Eric John Huygens, Margaret Fountain Howren, John Raymond Howren, Great Grandparents Pearl Mozelle Bailey Hartline and Richard Davis Hartline, and Uncle Bill Hartline.

Dale attended schools in Athens, GA and Salisbury, NC. In Wilmington, NC, he attended Alderman Elementary, Roland Grise Middle, and Hoggard High, as well as Cape Fear Community College.

He loved music and played several instruments; he was also accomplished in drawing/art.

He had a love for travelling, reading, anime, nature, and was an avid student of Shaolin Martial Arts and the holistic practices of Tai Chi, Bagua, and QiGong.

Dale worked various jobs throughout his life, his last as an instructor of Tai Chi.

There will be a private scattering ceremony for immediate family.
