Joseph Heu died on Tuesday November 18, 2008, at Brunswick Cove Nursing Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 27,1933. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Sarah Mary Heu.
He is survived by his four children, Elizabeth Mignone and her husband Vincent of East Meadow, NY, William Heu and his wife Mindy Annette, Heather Messer and her husband Leon, and Joseph Alan Heu and his fiancee Melinda Watts, all of Southport, NC. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Roder and her husband Scott of Melville, NY, Nicole Herrera of Randolph, NJ, Lleyton Heu and Lucas Messer, both of Southport, NC.
Joe is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Caroline D’ Agostino and her husband Anthony of Lady Lakes, FL; Edna Stanga and her husband Robert of Ridgewood, NY, and Eugene Heu of East Meadow, NY.
After serving four years in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict, he worked for Pfizer, Inc. for 34 years at its plants in Brooklyn, NY, and Southport, NC, retiring in 1991.
Joe was a member of the Southport congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he proudly enjoyed sharing his faith with many others.
There will be a memorial service at the Southport Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, November 29 at 3 pm.
