Joseph Mahlon Scheithauer, age 79 of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Schuylkill, PA on December 8, 1941 to Mahlon Joseph Scheithauer and Adele Helen Scheithauer. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Geraldine “Gerry” Folino Scheithauer.

He is survived by his son Jim Scheithauer; brother-in-laws John Folino and Thomas (Ann) Folino.

Joseph worked for over 30 years in Information Technology within the banking industry. After retirement he took great pride in driving a bus transporting special needs children. He enjoyed doing work around the home both inside and out, fixing and repairing anything that needed it! He had a strong faith in Jesus and was a true believer.

    My condolences to the family. I worked with Joe at Mellon Bank back in the 80’s. He was a super guy and had a great sense of humor. At lunchtimes we would search out places for the best chili. I’m very saddened to hear of his loss.
