Memorial Gifts & Donations

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, Joseph Michael Ryan of Wilmington North Carolina on Sunday September 20th, 2020 of an ongoing heart condition.

Joe leaves behind to continue his legacy one son: Tyler J. Ryan of Wilmington, NC; three daughters: Falon N. Sandidge husband Sean of Goldsboro, NC; Ashley M. Temples of Gainesville, GA; Amber N. Ryan of Havelock, NC; his mother: Catherine Willock; three sisters: Kristin Kitchen; Sandra Cogan; Crystal Jones; eight grandchildren: Summer; Aaron; Dylan; Madison; Gabriella; Shane; Finley; Seanna; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his brother James William Ryan and one month prior by his best friend and wife of 20 years, Sheila Marie Ryan.

Joe was born in Stoughton Massachusetts and has spent the last 52 years loving the New England Patriots, the beach, coffee ice cream, yard work, a good steak and Saint Patrick’s Day. Not necessarily in that order.

Joe was a dedicated father, husband, son and football fan.
He lives on in each of his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings and his devoted mother. It’s not ideal, but he is still right here with us, we just need to look a little harder now.

A private service will be held at the family’s request. The family will receive guests on Sunday September 27th, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Ryan residence, 3704 Merestone Drive in Wilmington North Carolina.
