Mrs. Josephine Ambrogio Safko, 83 of Wilmington passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Pacifica Senior Living in Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Safko is the daughter of the late Salvador Ambrogio and Josephine Merselli Ambrogio; she also was preceded by her husband, Alex “PoP” Safko and a daughter, Sandy Safko.

Survivors include her daughter, Juanita Malpass and a son, Richard Safko; one grandchild, Michelle Gainey; three great grandchildren, Alicia Gainey, Billy Malpass, Jr. and Meranda Bruce and three great, great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Apostolic Tabernacle Church at 10:00 AM; 712 Wellington Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401. Burial will be in the Wilmington National Cemetery.

    To the family I'm so sorry to hear about mrs safko she wss a great lady and friend me and my sister bootie grew up around her she was always there with my aunt tootie they were great friends we had a lot of laughs with her she wad like a aunt to us she will truly be missed if there is anything we can do please fill free to ask snd keep GOD in everything you do he will be there for you always we love you guys
