Joyce Gatlin Wood, of Carolina Beach passed away May 19, 2009 at Davis Healthcare.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Vera Gatlin and her son Aaron Jones, Jr.

Joyce is survived by her son Allen Leroy Wood and wife Amy B. Wood, of Cove City, NC, grandson Dustin Hunter Wood, sister Connie Patrick, Leland, NC, brother Ralph Gatlin and wife Patricia B. Gatlin of Leland, many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved the beach, fishing, old movies, dancing, spending time with friends and watching her grandson playing sports.

Celebration of life will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 24, 2009 beginning at 304 Ocean Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC. then proceeding to the North End.

Special thanks to Hilda Cox and her other faithful friends for their love and support during this time.
