Juanita Penny Smith (Teeny Bug) age 86 of Wilmington, NC passed away Thursday morning, July 12, 2012 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
Born and raised in Hallsboro, NC., Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband Raymond A. Smith; son, Gary A. Smith; daughter in-law, Demetria P. Smith; grandson John R. Smith and wife Christie C. Smith; granddaughter, Lauren M. Smith and great granddaughter Bailey G. Smith, all of Wilmington. She was also survived by a sister, Mozelle McCabe; special nieces Sandra Rackley and Betty Jo Alford; and very special friend, Vickie F. Smith. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son Terry W. Smith; sister, Marie Sikes and brother, James L. Penny.
Mrs. Smith loved and treasured life and therefore graciously donated her body to science in hope that one day a cure for the dreaded disease cancer could be found. A memorial service celebrating her life will be determined at a later date.
A special thanks to all the people of Hospice who were so wonderful and caring during Mrs. Smith’s stay.
