Julian Blue McKeithan


Julian McKeithan, age 91 of Leland, NC passed away at his home February 17, 2015. He bravely served in the United States Army and is a WWII veteran. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was known to many as Mac or to his grandkids as Boss. Julian was known for his favorite saying “you know what I’m talking about.” He loved his family with all his heart. He enjoyed working in his garden and having his pig-pickings.

Julian was the son of the late John A. and Emma McKeithan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pattie LaRue McLamb McKeithan, a son, Daniel (Danny) McKeithan, grandson Timothy Scott McKeithan, brothers, John D. McKeithan and Milton “Snooke” McKeithan, and one sister Thelma.

Survived by a daughter Kay McKeithan Fowler, her husband Eddie Fowler of Leland; Four sons, Milton McKeithan and wife Anne of St. Paul; Lee McKeithan and wife Gaye of Newport; John McKeithan and wife Debra of Leland; Mike McKeithan and wife Beverly of Leland.

Granddaughters: Holly Shepard, Krystal Skarvelis, Brandi McKeithan, and Jenny Speaker. Grandsons: Perry McKeithan, Johnny McKeithan, Brandon McKeithan, Eddie Fowler, Jay McKeithan, and Bobby McKeithan.
Great granddaughters: Taylor, Makenzie, Carmen Elizabeth,Harper and Mya Grace. Great grandsons: Zachary, Noah, Levi, Hunter, Kaden, Zachary Sterling, Christopher, Alex, Brenton, Mason, Kolton, Joey, and William.

Pallbearers: Perry McKeithan, Johnny McKeithan, Brandon McKeithan, Eddie Fowler, Kevin Shepard, Charles Fowler, Sr., and Charles Fowler, Jr. Honorary pallbearer: Hunter McKeithan.

The family will receive friends on Friday February 20, 2015 from 7 to 9pm at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held by Reverend George Potter on Saturday February 21, 2015 11am at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 4pm Saturday at Raeford City Cemetery in Raeford, NC. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in his name.
