Mr. Julius Randolph Swinson, Sr., 78, of Leland, NC died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

Mr. Swinson was born in Rose Hill, NC on October 04, 1932. He was the son of the late Ulmont Lee Swinson and Esther Inez Swinson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lam Swinson; daughters Linda Aikens and Judith Cogle; and sisters Grace Casteen and Nancy Drew.

Surviving are his son Julius Swinson Jr.; sister Esther Eason; brother Johnny Swinson; grandchildren Melissa Hughes, Amy Horrell, Jonathan Swinson and Ashley DeSaix; great-grandchildren Bryce Hughes, Katie Swinson, J.J. Swinson and Ceva Marie DeSaix.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at 11:00a.m. in the chapel at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation with the Reverend L.R. Teachey officiating.

Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at 10:00a.m.

    I am so sad to learn of the passing of Julius. I was blessed to know him for many years when I worked at my family restaraunt in the Cotton Exchange, Nuss Strasse. He was a beautiful soul with such a caring and loving attributes. I know he is in Heaven along with Margie and Linda and will be missed dearly. Please accept my condolences. Jennifer MacNeish
