Justin Reginald Barnes, 32 passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022.

He was born in Wilmington on June 12, 1990.

Justin was a graduate of NC State University with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering and his Professional Engineering License. He was a Structural Engineer with Chris Holmes Engineering.
He enjoyed wakeboarding, surfing, hunting, fishing, exercising, and visiting the gym. He was member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving family is his parents, Reggie and Phyllis Barnes; brother, Geoffrey Barnes; grandparents, Grady and Shirley Barnes; several very special Aunts and Uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 1 pm Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel led by his uncle Rev. Roger Barnes.

In lieu of flowers suggested memorials to any Surfing Disability Charitable organizations, St. Jude Hospital or a charity of choice.

    We loved Justin like a son. I know the walk you will walk and I pray you hold tight to God’s hand. His memory will never leave you and if I remember Justin, he is wakeboarding in Heaven and probably teaching Lucas how to play baseball!! God bless you all.
