Karen Conley Gore, age 71 of Delco passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCareCenter.

Karen was born in Charleston, WV to John Thomas Conley and Cleetus Vivian Jenkins Conley.

Karen was a faithful member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church. She had a career in Dental offices and had retired to be a full-time wife, mom, and grandmother. She was active in her church singing in the Choir. One of her favorite activities included helping with the Cheerleading Squad at Roger Bacon Academy which her granddaughter was a member of.

Karen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Hugh Craig Gore; one daughter, Robin Lynn Gore and husband Miguel Martinez; two grandchildren, Alexis “Alie” Marie Ramirez, and Gabriel Josiah Martinez; brother J. T. Conley and wife Shirley and Anthony Wayne Conley; sisters, Sherry Lee Gottschalk, Teresa Darlene Simmons, Tammy Gail Conley, and Kimberly Lou Conley; nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marsha Lynn Gooden, and Catherine Ann Duff.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, October 30, 2020 at Delco Cemetery in Delco, NC led by Rev. Mark Player.

In lieu of flowers make memorial donations to the Safe Harbor Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 356, Delco, NC 28436.

    I will never forget when Karen and I would practice singing together. A song that was very special to her and to me “In Christ Alone”. She was always such a wonderful person to talk with and always made me laugh. She will live forever in my memories and forevermore with Jesus.

    Craig, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Karen's passing. My heart goes out to you and your family. I couldn't help but remember when we all used to hang out together, play a little golf, go to the lake, etc. with the usual suspects. That all seems like a lifetime ago. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with ya'll and again, I am so sorry for your lose.
