Katherine (Lou) Lucille McGolerick-Hoover of Wilmington, NC passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Katherine was born in Arlington, VA on December 31, 1931. She graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA. She was married to Francis J. Hoover on October 6, 1956; they were married 65 years.

Lou worked at The Department of the Navy in her younger years and then in the Fairfax County Public School System. First and foremost though, Lou was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-GrandMother and Homemaker. She took great Pride and Joy in her work on the Home Front and caring for her Family.

Lou enjoyed and valued spending time with her Family and Friends. She loved the Beach, and her Cabin Home in Dillwyn, VA. Lou was a member of Wilmington First Church of the Nazarene and served in all capacities faithfully for many years. Lou was then a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC.

Lou is survived by her Husband Frank; Daughter Karen; Sons, Daniel and wife Karen and David and wife Victoria, six Grandchildren, Robert Brumm, Jr. and wife Nikki, Andrew Hoover and fiancé Cheyenne Cowell and Sarah Davis and husband Scott Davis, Joshua Hoover, Benjamin Hoover and fiancé Katelyn, and Rachel Hoover and fiancé Scott Smith. She also leaves behind seven Great-Grandchildren, Tony, Austin, Ryley and Logan Brumm; Caden Davis, Bronson and Raven Hoover. Lou was preceded in death by her Parents, Robert and Katherine McGolerick, Sister, Ethel McDonough; and Brother, Robert McGolerick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NC Autism Society, Wilmington, NC.
