Kathy Lynne Godbey, passed on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at the age of 66. She fought long and hard, but now she’s relaxing on a beach in Heaven. She was born in New Jersey on July 10, 1956 and grew up in Willingboro. She went to John F Kennedy High School and attended Douglass College, which is a part of Rutgers University.
She is and was an incredible, and fearless individual. Kathy was never one to shy away from an adrenaline rush having been sky diving, hang gliding, scuba diving certified, and that’s just to name a few things.
She was also an elementary school teacher for many years and had a knack for making her classroom environments a fun, and safe place to learn. She was a favorite teacher to many students and taught for well over 20 years.
Above all of this she was a loving wife and mom. She flew across the world to China, to adopt her son Samuel Wallen. The love that she possessed and put out into the world was unconditional and unwavering, and it cannot be surmised in words alone. She will be forever missed but we all will continue to carry her in our hearts.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 8 years, Gene Godbey, son Samuel Wallen, 3 siblings; Theresa Warrington and her husband Butch, Anna Dera and her husband Guy Allard, and Michael Dera and wife Cathy. As well as; her Aunt JoAnn McDowell and Uncle Raymond Wetter, and wife Marilyn.
The family will be holding a private service.
