Kayla Annette Mote, 17 of Carolina Beach passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 due to injuries from an automobile accident.


She was born November 13, 1990 in Georgia, and had spent the last several years as a resident of Carolina Beach. Kayla was a student at Eugene Ashley High School.


Surviving are mother and step-father, Sharon and Rob Knowles of Carolina Beach her Father and Step-mother, Wesley and Teresa Mote of Baldwin, Georgia; a twin brother Kyle Mote; and brothers LCPL Michael R. Mote currently serving in Iraq, and Cameron Mote of Baldwin, Georgia. Maternal grandmother, Betty York of Eastanollee, Georgia and paternal grandfather, Avery Mote of Alto, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Carolina Beach on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. the Reverend Steve Hall will officiate.
