November 6, 1942 - February 5, 2013
Kelly Guy Lloyd, Jr.

Kelly Guy Lloyd, Jr, 70, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Lloyd was born in Wilmington to the late Kelly Lloyd, Sr. and Nell Bland Lloyd. He was married to the late Tina McKeithan Lloyd. He was an automobile mechanic and was a partner in Lloyd’s Garage and later sole owner of Kelly Lloyd’s Garage and U-Haul. He was often heard to sing, “On the Wings of a snow-white Dodge,” which was a testimony to how much he loved NASCAR, dirt track racing, and working on cars. He was a true Mopar enthusiast.

He was a kind and hard-woking man. He loved and cared deeply for his friends and family and would give the shirt off his back. His spirit will always remain in the hearts of the ones he knew. He may be gone from this world but he will never be forgotten.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by one son, Kyle Lloyd.

Survivors include one son, Kelly Guy Lloyd, III, of Wilmington; one brother John Lloyd and his wife, Lee, of Burgaw; and his special friend, Jewell Sikes, of Wilmington.

Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at 1 PM, on Saturday, also at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

    Jewell Wynne Sikes says:
Kelly was the strongest man I have ever Known. His greatest attribute, however was a heart that was full of love for people & his family. In every situation ,Kelly Did his best to help out those in need. Fixing autos was his profession But his avocation was making it easier For those he cared for. His generous nature Made him easy to be fond of & devoted to. Even in the dierest of Circumstances he always considered Others before himself. I have been Blessed to have known & been loved By him. No one will ever radiate The warmth of God's love as Kelly. With a hole in my heart ,I say so long Until we see each other again in Paradise!!! Love, Jewell To
