Kenneth “Spencer” Griffis, 47, passed away November 13, 2019. Spencer was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Robert T. and Gertrude Griffis; maternal grandparents, Kermit and Ann Lee and brother, Michael Griffis.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Leesa (Drutchal) Griffis, sisters: Tania Sholar (Dean) and Shelley (Griffis) and Contendo (Tom) and sister-in-law, Mona Griffis; nephews: Alex Griffis (Allie), Presley Sholar and Fletcher Sholar; niece, Danielle Griffis Vandenberg (Dustin) and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Spencer enjoyed cooking, golfing, watching TV and using is power tools to construct his latest project.

Contributions to his memory may be made to Coastal Horizons, 615 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.

A  Meet and Greet will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 5:30 PM with a Celebration of Life to begin at 6:00 PM at the Wilmington Chapel.

    I can't believe you are gone Spencer. I thought we had lots of time? You are younger than I am, so I didn't worry about death getting in the way of things. I know you wanted to turn your life around, get a good job and send your mom some money to make things up to her. We talked about it all the time. I'm really gonna miss you. My condolances to your family and especially your mother. I wish I were closer so I could help her get through this. I wish you well on your journey.

    Gonna miss you Spence. I'm glad I got to spend some time with you in Colorado while you were here. We had such a great time ATVing, reminded me of when we were kids and gave a chance to go play again. Fun times. I wish we had more time, but I will cherish the time we did get to spend together. Miss you cuz.
