Memorial Gifts & Donations

It is with unbearable sadness that we mourn the passing of Kerrin Michelle Ford, 33, of Duxbury, Massachusetts. Kerrin passed away unexpectedly on May 12th, 2024, from heart complications.

Kerrin was born in Melrose, MA and grew up in Duxbury, MA. She graduated from Duxbury High School in 2009. She attended Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD, graduating with honors in 2013 with a double-major in Marketing and Management.

Kerrin’s greatest passion has always been to help others less fortunate than herself. She was constantly seeking opportunities to share her time, skills, and effusive personality to improve the lives of others.

After graduating from college, Kerrin joined AmeriCorps and spent over two years in Delaware managing teams of volunteers in building houses for Habitat for Humanity. Nothing brought her more joy and pride than handing the keys to a new home over to a family who previously had none.

Her dream of managing a non-profit organization, combined with her love of nature and the outdoors, brought her to Seattle, WA. She spent the next seven years living, working, and embracing the spectacular natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She really loved the area, especially the rain!

Kerrin was sweet and loving, determined and passionate, smart and brave. She was truly a bright light in all the lives she touched. She exuded kindness, empathy, and compassion. She had a clever wit, a contagious laugh and an infectious smile that brought joy to all who were lucky enough to know her. Unknown to many, Kerrin was also deeply profound and philosophical, and spent much of her private time reading poetry and writing.

Kerrin leaves behind her mother, Caralie (Coughlin) Ford, of Plymouth, MA, her father and step-mother, Jim and Debbie Ford, of Wilmington, NC, her sister Kelsey (Ford) Lamon, her husband Matt and their two children (Ford, Maisie – Kerrin’s goddaughter), her brother Greg Ford, her step-brother Jeff Terrizzi, his wife Megan and their four children (Jason, Alex, Avery, Everleigh), her step-sister Anna Terrizzi, and her step-sister Alexis Terrizzi and her two children (Charlie, Ariah). Kerrin also leaves behind her sweet kitty, Meowth.

Kerrin is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Ford, and her maternal grandparents, Ken and Diana (Dee) Coughlin. Kerrin will be incredibly missed by her close cousins, Dylan and Kelly Alexander, whom she loved and treated as siblings.

Although Kerrin may be physically gone from this world, her light will live on forever in those who were lucky enough to know and love her. Kerrin would have wanted us all to “just keep swimming,” so as hard as it may be, that is what we will do.

Kerrin’s immediate family will be holding a private ceremony. We will provide details for a Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations in Kerrin’s name can be made to Habitat for Humanity when you choose the “Donate from the Heart”.
