Kevin “Gibbs” Langley, aged 62 of Hampstead, NC, passed away suddenly at NHRMC on September 18th, 2022.
Gibbs was a Wilmington native, graduate of New Hanover High School, and the fourth son of the late Donald Glennan Langley Sr. and Iris Glenda Langley.
He is preceded in death by his three older brothers: David, Alvin “Joe,” and Donald Jr.
Gibbs is survived by his two daughters; Kayla Iris Langley and Hannah Lee Langley, both of whom were able to be by his side as he left his worldly body to be with the Lord.
Gibbs was a proud American who valued hard-work, living a simple life, and loved his Sunday Nascar. He was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed sitting in a stand and observing nature just as much, if not more, than the actual hunt.
Above all things, Gibbs took the most pride in his daughters. He was a devoted and loving father who attended the softball games, was full of life-advice, laughs, and sarcasm; and made sure to say “I love you” every day.
Gibbs was always a giving person and chose to do so even after death. Per his wishes expressed to his daughters, his body has been donated to MedCure to be utilized for medical research.
The family has chosen not to have a public service and plan to have a small, private event at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Hampstead Memorial Chapel, 16076 US-17 Hwy N, Hampstead, NC 28443 910.821.1713.
