Lawrence Randall “ Randy” Chestnutt, son of Lawrence Lee and Judy Blanton Chestnutt left this earth for his heavenly reward on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Wilmington, NC after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in New Hanover Co., on April 3, 1967. Randy attended New Hanover High School. Randy loved being outside in God’s world fishing and hunting and he especially loved playing his guitar and singing with the voice that God gave him.

Surviving in addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Kimberly Sue Newton of Castle Hayne, NC and Tammy Lee Locke of Warner Robbins, GA; nephew, Wesley Aaron Gore of Castle Hayne, NC; two nieces, Ashley Danille Locke of GA and Lynsi Paige Newton of Castle Hayne, NC; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Long Creek Baptist Church, 5131 Malpass Corner Rd., Burgaw, NC with Pastor W.L. Bateman officiating.

Special thanks to his life long friends, Jonathan, Joseph and Charlie Wallace. And special friends, Lisa Autry Oxendine and Wendy Hartwig.

A very special thanks to the staff of Lower Cape Fear & LifeCareCenter for their kindness and caring during this time.

    I find comfort with many of you,friends and family. knowing that Randy is no longer suffering. Sending prayers and support to you as you begin your journey without your beloved Randy. Although it is difficult today to see past the sorrow, looking back on the many memories we all share and remembering how Randy touched our lives in so many ways will bring comfort in the tomorrows...God Bless and Randy, there is no suffering in heaven, no sickness, deformity or pain..heaven is a place of eternal happiness.Go forth and prepare for us all a place of eternal life...until we meet again <3
