Rev. Leroy Evans Jr., age 63 of Wilmington passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 due to complications of agent orange.

Leroy was born in Wilmington, NC on July 22, 1950. His parents were Leroy and Beth Evans. Remembered is his sister, Margaret Collins.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from DuPont and began his ministry as a full time Pastor, serving as Pastor at Seagate Pentecostal Church for 22 years. He was very much loved by his congregation and family.

Pastor Leroy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Rouse Evans; daughter, Laura Camille Aderholdt (David); special son, Jeremy Evans; 3 grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, and Olivia and two great grandchildren, Kyra and Nixon; two brothers, Roy Lee Evans, and Troy Lee Evans; and two sisters, Sue Myers, and Tinae Brower; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will see friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 2 pm Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Living Word Full Gospel Fellowship Church, 440 Horn Rd., Wilmington. His burial will be at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Seagate Pentecostal Church, 7131 Thurgood Rd., Wilmington, NC 28411.
