Memorial Gifts & Donations

Leslie Nicole Blaylock, 44, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 after a truly heroic battle with colorectal cancer. She will be greatly missed by friends and family as she was considered a ..light to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a firecracker, born on July 4, 1975 to Jean Turner Blaylock of Burlington, NC and James Wylie Blaylock Jr. (Dickie) of Hurdle Mills, NC.

In addition to her mother Jean and her father Dickie, Leslie is survived by her Grandmother Lucille Turner, 97, of Burlington, NC; her sister Jamie Blaylock Pate, brother-in-law Michael Pate and nieces Braxten, Reilly, Ellis and Stella of Wilmington, NC; her brother James Wylie Blaylock III (Trey), sister-in-law Dana Blaylock and nephew Beck of Wilmington, NC.

Leslie attended Western Alamance High School in Burlington, NC class of ‘93 and achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Biology from The University of North Carolina Wilmington in ‘02. She stayed in Wilmington and after getting into clinical research with PPD, went on to work as a clinical manager for Syneos Health.

Leslie was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. She loved music, dancing, family game nights, camping on the beach, nature walks in the mountains, and could gaze at a full moon for hours. A true lunar baby always laughing, singing, and telling stories. Her creativity was also impressive whether it was crocheting, making pottery, painting, fashion, or decorating. She definitely had her own since of style. She was also a yoga enthusiast turning her garage into her very own yoga studio with a dream of instructing friends and family alike.

When you think of Leslie, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Her relationships to the people she loved were individually special. She had a way of making everyone feel that they had a deep connection to her and that was her spirit. She was our light, our glue, and now our angel. Until we meet again…

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her name to www.coloncancercoalition.org under the Tribute Live Like Leslie.

Leslie will certainly be missed. Her spirit was uplifting and her smile warm. I appreciated the opportunity to work with her even recently while her hopes were still high and she was herself. She has made me appreciate all that I have and to take nothing for granted. May the Lord have you in his glory in heaven.

Leslie was my best friend for 31 years and was really more like a sister to me! Words cannot begin to express the impact she has had on my life and forever will. We have more great memories than I could begin to count. She gave me so much joy and love in my life. Leslie was truly the one person who understood and knew me the most. I am truly blessed that she was such an important part of my life and because of her I am who I am today. She told me she would be watching out for me and I know she will as she always did on earth as well! Till we meet again Leslie! I will forever love you!
