Lillian E. Odum age 97 of Wilmington passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Silver Stream Health Care Center.

She was born on July 20, 1921, in Wilmington to Edward Johnson and Lillian Whitehurst Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband James Henry Odum, Sr. and her son, James Henry Odum, Jr.

Lillian was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Squires (Robert); son, Bruce Odum (Kitty); four grandchildren, Robert Squires, Jr., John Squires, David Odum, Jr., and Julie Jackson; 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will see friends from 4-5 Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, June 10, 2019, at the graveside in Oleander Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. David Haines.

    Someone so special can never be forgotten. What a wonderful lady. She treated me like one of her own grandchildren when I was around her. Used to love getting to go over to her house when I was young and spend time there. She may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts. My families hearts and prayers are with your family.
