Lillian McIver age 85 of Wilmington passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at her home.

Lillian was born and raised in Lenoir County, NC. After graduating from high school as valedictorian, she went on to study elementary education at East Carolina College. Not long after graduating, she began teaching at Camp LeJeune, NC, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 57 years, Ronny McIver.

Not long after moving to Wilmington in 1972, Lilian became a longtime member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she was very active in United Methodist Women, Sunday School, and many other church activities.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronny McIver and her four children; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; along with other extended family members.

Lillian will continue to be loved and remembered for dedicating her life to her husband and family. There will always be a special place in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Lower Cape Fear Life caregivers who were so loving, kind and patient during our time of need. We thank all the nurses and doctors at Hospice who tirelessly cared for our family.
