Linda Benton Lanier, age 81, of Winnabow, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

Linda was born on October 22, 1941, in Brunswick County, NC, the daughter of the late Rockfellow and Ethel Edwards Benton. She grew up in Leland, NC, and moved to Winnabow after marrying the love of her life, Spencer.

Linda was a fulltime homemaker, and she was the happiest when she was with her family. She was a member of the Town Creek Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir and served as church clerk for many years. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was a member of WMU.

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother Dow Benton and her sister Betty Lanier. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Spencer Lanier of the home; three sons Marty Lanier and wife Cyndi of Winnabow, Mike Lanier and wife Lisa of Winnabow, Mitch Lanier and wife Amber of Winnabow; six grandchildren Parker Lanier, Jonathan Lanier, Amanda Lanier and fiancé Logan Lynch, Patsy Lanier, Sara Lanier, and Fletcher Lanier; and a brother Bernard Benton.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 27, at Town Creek Baptist Church, 832 Green Hill Rd NE, Leland, NC 28451, with Rev. Don Whitener officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
